Rev. William E. Osborne

Rev. William E. Osborne, 90, of Joppa, MD passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his home. He was born May 29, 1927 in Big Laurel, NC to Henry F. and Ora V. Jones Osborne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Gladys E. Morris Osborne, one son, David Henry Osborne, two brothers, Harold Osborne and Paul Osborne and one sister, Esther Arnold.

He is survived by a brother, Fred Osborne and wife Josephine of W. Brandywine, PA, one son, William R. Osborne and wife Valerie of Bel Air; two daughters, Lois Combs and husband Jack of Castlewood, VA and Mary Folus of Joppa, whom he lived with for the past 12 ½ years.
He has 3 grandchildren, William J. (BJ) Osborne, Joshua E. Osborne and Sarah E. Folus, all of Bel Air.

Bill left the army in 1947 and worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 32 years. He began preaching in 1959 and was ordained in 1960. He has pastored at Perryman Baptist Church in Perryman, MD; Colora Baptist Church in Colora, MD and Homeville Free Will Baptist Church in Homeville, PA and was a member of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church in Middle River. Bill has held countless revivals, including tent revivals, with the late Rev. Ralph E. Little and the late Rev. Kyle Blackburn. He has also conducted many funerals and weddings in his 59 years in the ministry. He also had a religious radio broadcast for several years on Sunday afternoons in Havre De Grace called "The Light At The River".

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Arnold, Josh Osborne, Gil Bender, Jim Brady, Aaron Lewis and Mike Stilwell.
