Rev. Clarence E. Rowland

Rev. Clarence E. Rowland, son of the late Roby A. Rowland and Fannie M. Eller, was born on September 2, 1929 and departed this life on December 13, 2014, making his stay on earth 85 years.

He united in marriage to Ruth Jeanette Cheek on February 24, 1949. Unto this union was born 3 children, Richard S. Rowland of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robin L. Rowland of St. Petersburg, FL and Regina L. Gibson of Forest Hill, MD.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, his 3 children and 3 grandchildren, Michael J. Tama Jr. of White Marsh, MD, William B. Gibson III and Jacob R. Gibson of Forest Hill, MD along with his sister Catherine Jones of Jarrettsville, MD, his brother, Dale Rowland of Delta, PA and his son-in-law, William B. Gibson II of Forest Hill, MD.

Clarence was retired from the federal government as a chemical specialist at Edgewood Arsenal. He was a lifelong member of the Mountain Union Baptist Association and was ordained as a minister on April 12, 1971. Over the years, he served as pastor of Auburn Baptist Church of Landenburg, PA, New Bridge Baptist Church of Rising Sun, MD and Baptist View Church of Forest Hill, MD. He dedicated his life to his belief in God and provided hope to those who sought his counsel.
