Rev. Christopher M. Carney

On January 15, 2008, Reverend Christopher M. Carney, age 76, of Hickory, MD, beloved son of the late Maurice J. Carney and the late Dolores S. Carney of Philadelphia, PA. In 1948, Father Carney first entered the Brothers of Christian Schools (F.S.C.) serving 22 years as a Christian Brother. In 1971, Father Carney was ordained a Priest for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and served as Administrator of St. Thomas More Parish, Baltimore, MD, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Parish, Arbutus, MD, Pastor of The Church of the Annunciation, Rosedale, MD, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Overlea, MD, and most recently beloved Senior and Retired Priest at St. Ignatius Church, Hickory, MD.

Father Carney is survived by numerous cousins, loving friends, and beloved parishioners.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Ignatius Church Building Fund, 533 E. Jarrettsville Road, Forest Hill, MD 21050. Father Chris especially asked that friends and loved ones pray for his soul, for the Bishops and Priests of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and for future priestly vocations for our Archdiocese.
