Rev. Bob Tompkins

Rev. Bob Tompkins, age 57, of Belcamp, MD, passed away the morning of November 11, 2011. Born in Ft. Meade, MD, he was the son of Shirley Isabelle Owens Tompkins of Bel Air, MD and the late Robert Joseph Tompkins. Bob, a Baptist minister, earned two Masters Degrees, one in Divinity and the other in Religious Education and was the Church Planter and Pastor of the Church at Riverside for 18 years. Following, at The First Baptist Church of Havre de Grace, he was also Pastor, Christian Education Director, teacher and Deacon Chair. In addition, he worked for 21st Century Oncology as a patient transportation driver. His hobbies included baseball card collecting, gardening, fishing, crabbing, and the outdoors.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Larraine Tompkins of Belcamp, MD; daughter Amanda McMahan and husband, Billy, of Havre de Grace, MD; son, Matthew Tompkins and fiancée, Laura McVey, of Bel Air, MD; sisters, Deborah Carroll of Bel Air, MD and Renee Monroe of Orlando, FL; nephews, Jason and Alan Carroll; and a granddaughter who is due in December, McKenzie McMahan.
