RENA MARIE PENNINGTON, 82, of Bel Air, Maryland, died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, Maryland, on August 17, 2003. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lee Ander and Lannie Victoria Brooks Combs and the wife of the late Wilson Jackson Pennington. Before she was married, she had worked at her family’s print shop in Virginia. She had also worked as a waitress at Rubins Drive In Restaurant in Bel Air, MD and as a seamstress at Bata Shoe Company, Belcamp, MD. She enjoyed sewing and doing alterations for everyone in town and enjoyed making quilts and crafts. She was a past member of the Otter Point Boat Club Auxiliary in Abingdon, MD.
Mrs. Pennington is survived by two sons, I. Dale Pennington of Bel Air, MD and Ernest Lee Pennington of Joppa, MD; two daughters, Betty L. Remines and Ruth Ann Tolliver, both of Bel Air, MD; a brother, Robert Lewis Combs of Chilhowie, Virginia; four sisters, Mary Magdeline Blevins of Chilhowie, Virginia, Delcie Lee Pennington of Adkins, Virginia, Shirley Ann Blevins of Chilhowie, Virginia, and Della Juanita Williams of Walkers Creek, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a great great grandson; four grand dogs; and many family and friends in Virginia. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pennington is predeceased by a brother, Cecil Dean Combs and three sisters, Edith Faye Doss, Ethel Irene Sheets and Hattie Lucill Winebarger.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Kelly, Anthony Kosmos, Dean Whiteley, Nicholas Hoyt, Bill Frank and Eugene Gibson.
