Regina "Gina" A. Kahoe, age 61, of Bel Air, MD passed away on December 10, 2011 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born in Manchester, England, she is the daughter of Philomena Doreen Preston Lynch of Bel Air, MD and the late John Carl Lynch. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Degree in Journalism and was Vice President at PNC Bank (formerly Mercantile Bank and Trust) in Baltimore where she worked for 34 years.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and was a volunteer for the National Historical Society. She supported a multitude of charities including St. Judes Hospital, Special Olympics, United Way of Central Maryland and the American Cancer Society. A 28-year ovarian cancer survivor, her true passion was as an advocate for the awareness and education of this often misdiagnosed disease. She was called upon to speak for such organizations as the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition about her experiences to help others understand how to detect and survive this often deadly disease.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Kahoe is survived by her daughter, Colleen E. Kahoe of Bel Air, MD; brother Glenn S. Lynch of Chicago, IL; and many cherished sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
