Rebecca Jane Del Frate

REBECCA JANE DEL FRATE, age 83, of Aberdeen, MD, died on May 20, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Clarksburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Albert Nelson and Ada Louellen Frush Wagner and wife of the late Julian Joseph Del Frate. She retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1974, after 25 years of service, where she was an accountant tech. She was a member of the DAR. She took great pride in being a direct descendant of General George Armstrong Custer, and loved attending the Little Big Horn Association Conferences and the Custer reunions. She was an avid genealogist which took her to many cemeteries and the basements of courthouses all along the east coast. She had several articles published in historical publications resulting from her research. She was a life member of Cranberry Methodist Church in Perryman. Rebecca lived on the Bush River for over 56 years and enjoyed the serenity which comes with living on the water and loved watching the Blue Herons. She was a cherished mother and grandmother and the most important thing to her was her family. An avid reader, she enjoyed reading historical books and novels. She was proud to have been the one to share her favorite novel, Gone with the Wind, with her granddaughters. She enjoyed spending hours gardening and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Del Frate is survived by a son, Anthony Del Frate and his wife Carol of Aberdeen, MD; a daughter, Janine D. Lembo and her husband Joseph of Forest Hill, MD; and four grandchildren, Joanna Lembo of Gilbert, AZ, Philip Lembo of Forest Hill, MD, Andrea Del Frate of Towson, MD, and Cassandra Del Frate of Aberdeen, MD and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers and eight sisters.
