Reba Goodman Cox

July 4, 1937 — September 27, 2017

Reba Goodman Cox, age 80, of Havre de Grace, MD passed away on September 27, 2017 at her home. Born in West Jefferson, NC, she was the daughter of Paul Richard and Ruth Allen (Hardin) Goodman. After the death of her mother when Reba was a toddler, she was raised by her second mother Rosalie Goodman. She was a 1956 graduate of Bel Air High School and later worked at BATA Shoe Company. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Bible Study and also participating in mission work with any church she was in. She was a board member of the Maryland Baptist Association Retirement Home. She enjoyed quilting, painting, gardening and canning, some of which she grew with her husband. She also loved the flowers and her birds. She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spoiling her family with baking cookies and doing crafts with them.

Mrs. Cox is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis Cox; her children, Brenda Longo and husband, Dennis, of Jarrettsville, Sherry Bryner and husband, David, of Aberdeen, Kevin B. Cox, Sr. and wife, Betsy, of Havre de Grace; siblings, Kenneth B. Goodman, Mary Lou Kincaid, Lawrence R. Goodman, Linda Lee Eller, Joan Carol Howell all of Fleetwood, NC, and Mark Robert Goodman of Statesville, NC; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Those who desire may make a contribution to the mission work at Calvary Baptist Church, 206 E. Courtland Place, Bel Air, MD 21014 in memory of Reba Cox.
