Raymond William ''Hollywood'' Merling

Raymond William "Hollywood" Merling, age 69, of Abingdon, MD, died on January 18, 2009 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late George and Vera Ann Holiday Merling. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Perry Hall V.F.W. He retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1990 after 30 years service. He was an avid pool player for many years playing in tournaments in both Baltimore and Ocean City. He loved his Ocean City home and shopping at the thrift stores.

Mr. Merling is survived by his lifelong partner of 33 years, Linda Cheryl Mullins of Abingdon, MD; children, Kimberly Ann Solinsky of Virginia, Rae Elizabeth Fodel of Perry Hall, MD, and William Lester Merling of Baltimore, MD; brother, George Merling of Florida; and grandchildren, Nicholas Alexander Solinsky, Christopher Solinsky, William Ronald Merling, Matthew Elias Fodel, and Eric Andrew Fodel.
