Raymond Wilson Young, age 91, of Street, MD, died on January 9, 2011 at Hart Heritage in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Pleasantville, MD, he lived most of his life in Harford County. He was the son of Walter Christian and Rosa Lillian Bolth Young. He was married to the late Catherine Elsie Walter for 54 years. He was a WWII Navy veteran and sailed on the USS Blackford. He was part of the forces that entered Japan for occupation. Returning home after WWII, he went to work for Williams Construction Company, Baltimore, MD where he was superintendent of maintenance and equipment in road construction.
Mr. Young was very family oriented and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed working in his barn shop building and altering equipment to suit his needs for doing jobs around his home. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, and traveling. He was a member of the American Legion, Darlington Dublin Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10146 and a life time member of the Essex Moose Lodge #70. He was a lifetime member of Hereditary Order of the Signers of the Bush Declaration and a member of the Sons of The American Revolution, Colonel Aquila Hall Chapter. He was also a member of the Ancient and Sacred Order of the Golden Dragon.
Mr. Young is survived by Judith D. Lenane and husband, Thomas, James D. Young and wife, Patricia, Bruce E. Young and wife, Sharon, Patricia A. White, husband Norman deceased. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert W. Young and Charles C. Young, a son, Philip G. Young and a granddaughter, Beth Young Tarquini. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren and a friend, Elizabeth Cook.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Lenane, John Buckler, James Sexton, David Wetnight, Zachary White and Gary Moxley. Honorary pallbearers will be William Maurits, Shane White, Carl Ginneman, Frank Tarquini, Nate Lucky, Pat Lanane, and Ray James.
