Raymond Lipps, age 90, of Bel Air, MD, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2014 at Lorien in Bel Air. Born in Denver, CO he was the son of the late John and Anna Marie Kammerzell Lipps, and husband of the late Machiko Yoshida Lipps. A 28-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he proudly served his country during WWII, Korea and Vietnam, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1974. He enjoyed polka dancing, woodworking and fishing. He moved to Maryland in 2011 to be close to his daughter and had recently moved to Brightview Assisted Living.
Mr. Lipps is survived by his sons, Jack Lipps of Wheatland, WY and John Lipps of Macon, GA; daughters, Deborah Norton and husband, Doug, of Bel Air and Delilah Knapp and husband, Brad, of Carmel, IN; brothers, Donald Lipps of Cody, WY and Ray Lipps of Casper, WY; sisters, Dorothy Lofing and Irene Kiser, both of Worland, WY; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Ken Lipps, brother, Johnny Lipps and sisters, Frieda Glanz, Lydia Dixon, Ruby Roberts and Wilma Weber.
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a later date.
