Raymond John Travis

December 10, 1936 — April 22, 2009

Raymond John Travis, age 72, of Forest Hill, MD, died on April 22, 2009 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Raymond Robert and Anna Elizabeth Dippel Travis. A resident of Harford County for 37 years, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was instrumental with the development of the Forest Hill Recreation Complex and was past president of Forest Hill Rec Council. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Professional Baseball Players Association, and the Old Timers Baseball Association and played in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

Mr. Travis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Roberta Jean Chenowith Travis of Forest Hill, MD; son, David R. Travis of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Debra J. Hanley and husband, Terence O. Hanley, of Bel Air, MD; three grandchildren, Connor A. Hanley, Gavin O. Hanley, and Garrett J. Hanley, all of Bel Air, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gary Neal Travis.
