Rayford D. Taylor, age 86, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on October 8, 2023, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Duty, Virginia, he was the son of the late William and Mary (McFadden) Taylor and husband of the late Betty Lou (Parsons) Taylor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Maryland National Guard. Rayford was an honorary member of Otter Point Yacht Club and a member of the Edgewood American Legion #17. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he worked as a barber for his entire career. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and crabbing, and was a corvette enthusiast. Rayford spent his years taking care of his daughter and spending time with her.
Rayford is survived by his daughter, Donna Marie Taylor; niece, Diann Neely; brothers, Clifford Taylor, and Avery Taylor; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents and wife, Rayford was preceded in death by his sisters, Avis Rossier, Beulah Compton, and Violet Livingston, and brothers, Claude Taylor, Carl Taylor, and Elmer Taylor.
