Randall Paine Worthington Sr., age 59, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2012 at Aquila Hall, the family Farm in Churchville, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Dallam Worthington III and Gray Elizabeth Norton Worthington-Salmons. He owned and operated York Insurance Services in Forest Hill, MD. Randy was an avid waterfowl and varmint hunter and salt-water fisherman. For years he owned and helped operate the charter deep sea fishing boat, Impulsive, out of Ocean City, MD. He loved the beach, traveling, his farm, playing golf, supporting the University of Maryland Football and Basketball teams, and was a tremendous Ravens fan. He believed strongly in giving back to the community, and spent countless hours serving on the boards of various organizations. He was especially concerned about issues involving health care in Harford County and the state. The things that gave him the most pleasure in life were hosting family holiday dinners and spending time at his farm with his grandchildren.
Mr. Worthington is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy Main Worthington of Havre de Grace, MD; sons, Randall P. Worthington Jr. and Bradley H. Worthington, both of Havre de Grace, MD; daughters, Tracy A. Wallace and husband, Tiernan, of Annapolis, MD, Shelby John of Fallston, MD and Leslie Kistler Atkinson of Joppa, MD; brother, John D. Worthington IV of Churchville, MD; sister, Bunny Worthington of Havre de Grace, MD; grandchildren, Canevin, Amelia and Lillian Wallace, all of Annapolis, MD, Grace, Nora and Derek John all of Fallston, MD, and Sadie and Hazel Atkinson of Joppa, MD; and stepfather, E. Frank Salmons of Bel Air, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Albert P. Close Foundation, 139 N. Main St., Suite 201, Bel Air, MD 21014.
