R. Sewell Matthews, 81, of Forest Hill, MD passed away on June 4, 2015 at his home. Born in Benson, MD, he was the son of the late William F. and Sarah Agnes Bull Matthews. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during the Korean War. He was a postal carrier for 30 years, drove a school bus for 17 years, and enjoyed traveling and camping. A lifetime member of Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, he was a Master Mason and member of Mt. Ararat #44 AF&AM and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Louise (Walker) Matthews; sons, Christopher L. Matthews and Kenneth L. Matthews and wife, Susan, all of Bel Air; daughter, Linda L. Corley and husband, Jack, of Panama City Beach, FL; brother, William P. Matthews and wife, Shirley, of Bel Air; nephews, Steve and Bill Matthews; grandchildren, M. Derrick Lester, Ethan C. Matthews, Jacob M. Corley, Nickolas B. Matthews and Leah D. Matthews; and great-grandchild, Lanah A. Matthews.
