R. Pauline Crouse, age 91, of York, PA, died peacefully on October 14, 2009 at her home. Born in Bel Air, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lester and Pearl Matilda Collins Edwards. Born and raised on a dairy farm in Forest Hill, she graduated from Bel Air High School in 1936. She was married for 44 years to Wayne E. Moxley, who died in 1983. In 2000, she married Everett Crouse at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church where they were members, which was where she attended as a teenager with her parents, who were founders of the church. They lived in Spry, PA. She loved to cook and make candy during the holidays. She was a member of Gatch Memorial Methodist in Baltimore, where she would make candy to support the church.
She is survived by her daughters, Roberta Marie Moxley of Brogue, PA, Rosa Lee Greenfield and husband, Donald, of Bel Air, son, Robert T. Moxley Sr. and wife, Joan, of Bel Air, MD; and sister, Lois Nagle of Bel Air, MD; sisters-in-law, Hazel Daughaday of Cockeysville, MD, and Nora Edwards of Forest Hill, MD; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Clyde Choate and Nedra Graybeal and brother, Charles T. Edwards.
Pallbearers will be Robert Moxley Jr., Thomas Greenfield, Richard Kilgore, Gary Daughaday, Dennis Bacon, and Dave Gibson.
Those who desire may contribute to Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church, 1707 Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21015. All floral deliveries will be accepted on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the church from 9-11:30 a.m.
