R. Jones Weaver

August 17, 1926 — September 28, 2003

R. JONES WEAVER, age 77, of Bel Air, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on September 28, 2003. Born in Lansing, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James Ross and Luella Weaver Weaver. (This is correct.) He had retired after 45 years of service at Kroh’s Cleaners of Bel Air where he worked pressing and cleaning clothes. He was a member of the American Legion Post 39 and the Masonic Lodge of Mt. Ararat. He was an avid golfer. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah E. Oliver Weaver; one brother, William E. Weaver of Whiteford; two sisters, Maxine Johnson of High Point, North Carolina; Myrtle Baker of Lugoff, South Carolina; one grandson, Zachary R.B. Hisley of Monkton and a son-in-law, Philip N. Hisley of Monkton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weaver was predeceased by a daughter, Sarah W. Hisley.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Post 39 American Legion Scholarship Fund, 500 Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, Maryland 21014.
