R. EILEEN COOK, age 84, of Abingdon, MD, died on September 7, 2006, at her home. Born in Abingdon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Clarance D. and Carrie Viola McIlyea Parris. She worked at the Glen Eagles Factory in Bel Air and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. A homemaker and an avid gardener, she raised flowers and canned vegetables. Her family said she enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband of 64 years, Otho Lee Cook of Abingdon, MD; a son, James O. Cook and his wife Jean, of Havre de Grace, MD; a daughter, Carol L. Comes and her husband, Robert E. of Churchville, MD; a sister Ohma Lee Burns of Parkton, MD; five grandchildren, Robert E. Comes Jr. of Bel Air, MD, Sandra L. Plummer of Bel Air, MD, Jennifer Farmer of Tampa, FL, David Farmer of Tampa, FL, and Rebecca O’Connell of Aberdeen, MD; two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Joseph Hackler of Abingdon, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, James O. Cook Jr.
Pallbearers were Rodney Burns, Jerry Powers, Al Lewis, David Cook, Sonny Baldwin, and Michael Nelson.
