Phyllis L. Parks, age 64, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on August 6, 2013 at her home. Born in Russell County, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Lee and Viola Elizabeth Meade Owens. A resident of Harford County for 35 years, she worked in sales for a home improvement retailer. Her hobbies included needlepoint, gardening and reading. She loved her two dogs, Cody Bear and Lacy Blue.

Mrs. Parks is survived by her husband of 37 years, Roby Junior Parks; daughter, Tammy L. Parks of Street; sisters, Nancy Sweitzer and husband, Jr., of Grand Falls, NC and Tammie Owens of Conowingo; grandchildren, Ashley Bergstrom of Peach Bottom, PA, Amanda Leftridge of Bel Air, Kasey Walter of Street and Brandon Walter of Peach Bottom, PA; nephews, Tim Sweitzer, Doug Sweitzer, Dylan Schweiger and Zachary Schweiger; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bo and Ruby Parks of Darlington and brothers-in-law, James Parks and R.B. Parks of Sugar Grove, VA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
