Phyllis Ann Lowman, age 74, of Bel Air, MD, died on September 3, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Marion, VA, she was the daughter of the late Otis P. Powell and Ethel Golliher Powell. She retired, after 30 years, from C&P Telephone Company where she was a clerk. A long standing member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she was a quilter and helped make quilts for the Linus Project, as well as, for soldiers overseas, friends and family. She also cooked and served for the Adam Group.
Mrs. Lowman is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ray J. Lowman of Bel Air, MD; son, Michael R. Lowman of Port Deposit, MD; daughter, Diana "Deanie" Lowman-Nehila and husband, Bill, of Street, MD; brothers, Roy C. Powell of Abilene, TX, Fred P. Powell of Midlothian, VA, James Powell of OH, and Randolph Powell of AZ; sister, Rose Gillespie of Marion, VA; step-grandchildren, Michael Nehila and wife, Erin, Daniel Nehila; and step great-grandchild, Kendal Ryan Nehila. In addition to her father and mother, she was predeceased by three siblings.
Pallbearers are Larry Fields, Michael Nehila, Alan Barlow, Richard Anderson, Joe Knauer, and George Fischer.
