Phoebe “Sis” Virginia Riley, age 87, of Abingdon, MD passed away on January 14, 2018 at her son’s home. Born in Van Bibber, MD, she was the daughter of Peter C. and Phoebe Virginia (Landers) Landry and was the wife of the late Charles W. Riley. She worked at Edgewood Arsenal for many years, and was a longtime member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church where she was the organist for 65 years. She was a life member of Abingdon Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Harford and Cecil County Ladies Auxiliary Hall of Fame. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and was in the Harford County Bowlers Hall of Fame.
Mrs. Riley is survived by two sons, Charles A. Riley (Sharon “Sherry”) of Bel Air and Bruce R. Riley (Suzanne) of Bel Air; and grandchildren, Bethany M. Riley, Rebekah M. Riley and Caleb E. Riley all of Bel Air.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Frederick Nicholas.
