Philomena Meyers-Rubino, age 78, of Bel Air, MD passed away on October 12, 2019 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Luigi and Anna DeFelice and wife of the late Edward Joseph Meyers Sr. and Joseph Anthony Rubino. She retired from Safeway grocery store where she was a department manager. Phyllis was a proud, original Baltimore Colts cheerleader from 1959-1971. She volunteered at the Kaufman Cancer Center at Upper Chesapeake Hospital and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Philomena grew up in Highlandtown and graduated from Patterson Park High School.
She was proud of her Italian heritage and loved to cook pasta and always shared her famous Italian cookies with friends and family. Phyllis was a lucky lady. She loved the casino and playing the lottery, all who knew felt lucky to be a part of her life.
Philomena always put family first. She was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Philomena is survived by her three sons, Richard and Jenn Meyers of Fallston, Mark and Andrea Anthony Rowlins of Bel Air and Kenneth and Ginger Meyers of Abingdon; stepdaughter, Christina and Frank Peusch of Annapolis; two brothers, Albert and Dora DeFelice, Benjamin and Joyce DeFelice; and sister, Catherine Buckley. She was the devoted grandmother to 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one on the way. Philomena was also a beloved Aunt Phyl to numerous nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to many.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Edward Joseph Meyers, Jr.; stepson, Leonard Rubino; sisters, Lola DeCarlo, Antoinette Rowlins, and Anna Mary Dorsey; and brother-in-law, Jack Buckley.
