Philip Vernon Coale of Bel Air, MD, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in his home in Ocean City, MD. He was 81 years old.
Mr. Coale was born in Havre de Grace, MD and was the devoted son of the late Vernon L. Coale and the late Evelyn Hyne Coale and the brother of Mary Coale Oberender. He graduated from Bel Air High School in 1957 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. In 2007, he retired as Co-Owner from Corbin Fuel, a family-owned company started in 1918. He was a longtime resident of Harford County and most recently resided in Ocean City, MD. He loved being with his family in Ocean City, playing a round of golf with his friends, and spending time with his two daughters, Michele and Leann, his six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. But most of all, he loved his wife and life partner, Karen.
Mr. Coale is survived by his wife, Karen Corbin Coale of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Michele Coale McFadden and husband, Robert McFadden, of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Leann Coale Reeves and husband, Richard Reeves, of Churchville, MD; six grandchildren: Jason, Kelsey, Brandon, McKenna, Cody, and Logan, and two great grandchildren: Kennedy and Kayleigh.
A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, in remembrance of Phil’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to The Shreffler House of The First Presbyterian Church of Bel Air, where he and his family have been longstanding members. 224 North Main Street, Bel Air, MD 21014.
