PETER PAUL LOCHARY, age 87, of Forest Hill, died in Harford Memorial Hospital on January 17, 2005. Born in Kalmia, Maryland, he was the son of the late Thomas Wilson Lochary and the late Mary Roberta Harkins Davis. He was the husband of the late Oneta Cheek Lochary. He had retired from the state of Maryland where he worked as a forest warden. A life member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Hickory, he was a member of the Elks Club in Venice, Florida. He was a life member of the Bel Air Fire Company, a past member of Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company where he served as past assistant chief. He was the past president of the Harford Cecil Fireman’s Association, past president of the Maryland State Fireman’s Association in 1968, served on the Maryland State Fire Prevention Commission for 16 years serving as chairman for 2 terms, and was a member of Maryland Fire Chief’s Association, Inc.
Mr. Lochary is survived by two daughters, Barbara Caine of Forest Hill; Jeannie Lochary of Forest Hill; one brother, Charles “Neil” Lochary of Bel Air; five grandchildren, Courtney Caine of Forest Hill; Meghan Caine of Baltimore; Peter Sheldon and his wife, Courtney of Haymarket, Virginia; Bridget Caine of Baltimore; and Christopher Sheldon of Forest Hill. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Lochary, Robert F. Lochary; and two sisters, Mary “Peggy” Bennington and A. Jane Lochary.
Pallbearers will be members of the Bel Air Fire Company.
