Paul L. Martin
Paul L. Martin of Abingdon died Jan. 27 at his residence. He was 61.
Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Hollis and Helen Naomi Zealor Martin. He had worked as a plant facilities worker at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson.
A lifelong resident of Harford County, Mr. Martin was a member of the Bel Air Moose Lodge. A recreational vehicle enthusiast, he was a member of National Campers and Hikers, Family Motor Coach Association, the Escapees Camping Club, the Coachmen Caravaners and the Good Sam Club.
For seven years, Mr. Martin traveled the country in his RV full time. Family members said he loved doing odd jobs for people and enjoyed woodworking. He volunteered for many years with the Maryland Forest and Parks Service, primarily at Patapsco and Rocks state parks. He also volunteered at Catoctin National Park in Frederick County.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carol Ann Boughan Martin; a stepson, Brian McFarland of Abingdon; three stepdaughters, Sean Husemann of Abingdon, Maureen Mulcahy of Milwaukee, Wis., and Erin McFarland Brown of White Hall; a brother, Wilson Martin of Stewartstown, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Kevin P. McFarland.
Services were at McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon Jan. 31 with Rev. Stephen M. Canapp officiating. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Baltimore.
Pallbearers were Jay Brown, Jay Burke, Todd Ford, Dave Husemann, Luke Husemann and James Schultz.
