Paul E. Lynch, Sr. (Gene) passed away at his home in Fallston on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was 92. He was born on October 3, 1920, in Monkton at Harford Hill Farm and was the son of the late Paul F. Lynch and Margaret Regina Lynch. Gene is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Vivian Kahoe. Mr. Lynch graduated from St. Stephen High School in Bradshaw and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He served with the 4th Marine Division in the Pacific Theater of World War II. He participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945 and received the Purple Heart. For several years, Mr. Lynch worked for the U.S. Postal Service before becoming Vice-President of Lynch Construction, Inc., a homebuilding company founded by his late brother Donald. They built numerous homes in Harford County in such subdivisions as Marywood and Cedarwood. He was also President of Lynch Builders, Inc., where, with his son Paul, he built homes throughout Fallston and Bel Air. He enjoyed his family and his Eastern Shore home in Tolchester, Maryland.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by 7 children, Vivian Flanigan (John) of Howard County; Margaret Calvert (Richard); Mary E. Lynch; Paul E. Lynch, Jr. (Leah); Robert S. Lynch, Esquire (Barbara); Richard D. Lynch; and Patricia Bankert (William); all of Harford County. He is survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Marguerite Kidd, and his brothers, Donald F. Lynch and John Carl Lynch.
