PAUL EDWARD PEAK, age 53, of Forest Hill, died in University of Maryland Hospital on September 11, 2005. Born in Havre de Grace, he was the son of Ruth Mae Grafton Peak of Forest Hill and the late Paul Woodrow Peak. He worked at Harford National Bank from 1973-2004. During that time he was President and CEO (1982-2004), Senior Executive Vice President/Commercial Lending (1980-1982), Vice President/Internal Auditor-Compliance Officer (1979-1980), Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager (1976-1979), and Assistant Branch Manager (1973-1976). He worked at Mercantile Safe-Deposit & Trust, Baltimore from 1972-1973 where he was a Tax Officer Trainee/Tax Services Department.
He attended Baltimore Institute and Bay College, Baltimore in 1972 earning a Business Certificate in Accounting and Computer Programming; Maryland Bankers Association, Maryland Banking School, Annapolis graduating from a three year program; and other various courses through the American Institute of Banking and Harford Community College.
He was a board member of Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation from 1994 to present and a committee member of John Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Friends from 1993 to present. He was a past member of Harford County Board of Education – Superintendent’s Business Advisory Committee; Harford County Executive’s Advisory Task Force; State of Maryland – Governor Schaeffer’s Business Advisory Committee; Town of Bel Air – Economic and Community Development Committee; Downtown Revitalization Task Force; and the Bel Air Strategic Planning Task Force. He was also a Harford County 4-H Program Leader/ Board Member.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Peak is survived by his wife, Debra Susan Warfield Peak; one son, P. Jason Peak of Abingdon; one daughter, Alicia Amanda Peak-LaRue and her husband, Will of Baltimore; two sisters, Barbara A. Beall and her husband, Charles of Whiteford and Deanna J. Bowker and her husband Butch of Pylesville. He was also survived by nieces and nephews, Brooke Tyler, Emily Tyler, both of Churchville, Chris Beall of Delta, PA, Todd Grubb of Whiteford, PA, and Ariane Grubb of San Diego, California.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Allen, Scott Elliott, Herbert Harkins, Larry Harkins, Scott Norris, and Russell Cullum.
Family asks that flowers please be omitted and contributions be made to the Pediatric Oncology Division, Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine, 100 N.
