Patsy E. Carter Bunger

Patsy E. Carter Bunger, age 89, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on October 2, 2021, at her home. Born in Shirley, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Pomeroy Eugene McGee and Helen May (Carter) Hower, and wife of the late Walter “Ben” Bunger Jr. She left Shirley, PA in 1949 to study nursing at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She graduated in 1953 and worked in many different departments. After working 44 years, Patsy retired as the Assistant Director of Nursing and then went on to private duty nursing. She loved gardening and took a lot of pride in her garden. She also loved the beach and traveling.

Patsy is survived by her son Ben Bunger; daughters, Mandy Lynn Zimmerman (Gary) and JoAnn Harrison (Dan); sister and best friend Nancy Fackler; brother Fred Hower; grandchildren Erin, Amy, Gina, Chrissy, Kari, Ana, Anthony, and Nicholas; great-grandchildren Jordan, Danny, Brooke, Aubrey, Liam, River, Luca, Silver and one on the way. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Edwin, Charles, and Donald; sisters Delores and Deb; and great grandson Ryan.
