Patrick "Pat" V. Mansfield, age 92, of Joppa, MD, died on August 23, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of the late William Walter and Elizabeth Idella Broadwater Mansfield. Born and raised in Western Maryland, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving our country during WWII, where he completed two European Tours, after which he was honorably discharged. He retired from Belko Corporation in Franklinville, and was past president of his local union. He was an active/past member of the Knights of Columbus in Forest Hill and the Joppa VFW. He loved baseball, gardening, bird watching, and animals. He took great pride in his wife and family.
Mr. Mansfield is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Winters Mansfield of Joppa, MD; children, William F. Mansfield and wife, Flo, of Westernport, MD, Cecelia K. Hendrickson and husband, Vince, of Cumberland, MD, Marie Theresa Nelson and husband, Gene, of Ripon, WI, Donna J. Champ and husband, James, of Riverside, MD, Patricia A. Forster and husband, Jeff, of Joppa, MD, Rose H. Jorgenson and husband, William, of Street, MD, Elizabeth Idella Christian and husband, Johnny, of Street, MD, Kathleen A. Townsley of Fallston, MD, and Timothy Patrick Mansfield of Selbyville, DE; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Frederick J. Mansfield, John Buskirt, Bill Buskirt; and sisters, Catherine Merbaugh, Mary Cesnick, Rebecca Densmore, and Fanny Groves.
Pallbearers will be Tim Mansfield, Jeff Forster, Bill Jorgenson, John Christian, Hans Jorgenson, and Patrick Townsley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Mansfield and Shawn Nelson.
