Patricia "Pattie" L. Stonesifer

December 9, 1937 — July 5, 2022

Patricia Lorraine Stonesifer of Joppa, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the age 84. Pattie was a graduate of Catonsville High School and Harford Community College and volunteered for over 13 years assisting deaf children in the Harford County School System and taught sign language to adults with the assistance of William and Avenel Heaps.  She was active in the PTA, a Cub Scout den mother and assisted with Boy Scout pack 458 at Mountain Christian Church.

Professionally, she worked at Maryland Police Supply and concluded her career as President for many years before retiring. In 2008, she attended a watercolor painting class at the Bel Air Senior Center and a new passion was inspired. She became involved in the Harford Artist Association at the cottage at Rockfield Manor and continued learning and painting. She met Annabelle Thurlow, referred to by Patty as “My Bell” and deep friendship was formed. Together, they coordinated the move of the Harford Artist to its current location at the Armory Marketplace in Bel Air.

She will be remembered by all as a wife, mother, accomplished artist and a compassionate, caring person. She was a birdwatcher, puddle jumper and always had time to walk a stream or just stop and roll up her pants and put her feet in the water.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alverta Virginia Hawke, stepfather Lawrence Hawke, father Harry Dorsey and son Lonnie Stonesifer.

Pattie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Vernon “Stoney” Stonesifer, son Dale Stonesifer and wife Valerie (referred to by Pattie as the daughter she never had), grandson Michael, sister Jean Clarkson and several nieces and nephews.

At her request, a celebration of life will be held in the future.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Harford Artists Association or the Kaufman Cancer Center both in Bel Air, MD.
