Patricia (McKenzie) Hufnal, age 67, long time resident of Philadelphia and most recently of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on January 16, 2025. Born in New York, Pat was the daughter of the late Dominic and Irene (Puhak) McKenzie and the beloved wife of the late Bob Hufnal Sr.
Pat had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went, radiating kindness and generosity even when life’s circumstances may not have made it easy. Her heart was boundless, and she poured her love into her relationships, most especially with her cherished grandchildren. She lived for her family and took every opportunity to share in their lives and adventures. Pat was a devoted member of the catholic church and a longtime member of St. Matthew’s Parish in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a devote believer in the healing powers of St. John Neuman and never missed the opportunity to say prayers or participate in a service at St. John Neuman Shrine in Philadelphia.
She was a lifelong explorer, always seeking out new places and experiences, and her vibrant personality was matched by her adventurous spirit. Pat was a school bus driver for over thirty years. She touched the lives of countless families and shared special bonds with them. She shared in the lives of her kids. Every child that was on her bus was one of her kids. They all became her family. After moving to Maryland, she continued to gain friends and family. From her lunch date crew to her people at dialysis, the list of her family members continued to grow.
Pat is survived by her son, Bobby (Michele) Hufnal, Jr., grandchildren Devon Hufnal, Natalie Hufnal, and Michael Hufnal, and sisters, Barbara Boyles, and Debbie Blaisdell. Also, survived by her grand puppies Gus and Ginny.
