Patricia Kalinowski, age 81, of Bel Air, Maryland went home to the Lord on March 28, 2021. Born, raised, and educated in Baltimore she was a nearly lifelong resident of the city. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Maude (Perry) Farrell, her late husbands Joseph Kalinowski and Bernard Piorunski. An elementary school teacher, her career spanned 41 years of service in the Archdiocese of Baltimore school system including Holy Rosary, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, and Archbishop Borders (Pompeii).
Patricia is survived by her sister Mary Kathleen Farrell, her children Michael Piorunski (Marion), James Piorunski, Margaret Webb (Steven), Patricia Hansel (William), and step-children Debra Kalinowski, Joseph Kalinowski, and Joyce Preston (Eugene). Also her grandchildren Tabatha Kammann(Jeffrey), Julia Bierman(Christopher), Jacquelyn Shockey (Dustin), Michael Piorunski(Vanessa Junkin), Alicia Drechsler (Michael), Matthew Piorunski, step grand-children Melissa Kalinowski(Will West), Jennifer Van Pelt(Brett), Eugene Preston(Stephanie), Sarah Preston, and Steven Webb; and foster grandchildren Heather Ridgely(Kevin) and Misty Myers(Pedro DelaCruz). Her great-grandchildren Kooper, Katherine, Noah, Lucas, Cameron, Tyler, Greyson, Isabella, Aryana, Amaya, foster great-grandchildren Cameron, Tyler, Grayson, Jylene, Briana, Isabella, Rose, Kevin, Lola, Jennifer, and Gabriel. Lastly, her nieces Jeannine Ranninger and Karyn Bengermino Jones. Also survived by many cousins.
Several generations of East Baltimore children and parents knew her as Ms. or Mrs. Pat. She was their teacher, neighbor, and friend. She had a special talent at helping children develop their reading skills.
Pat enjoyed shopping, traveling, the beach, musical theater, and dining with her teaching colleagues, family and friends. She loved children and animals, they returned that love to her in spades. Pat spent her final years living in Bel Air, MD. She leaves behind many dear friends from her working and social life.
