Patricia Adele McNutt Cline of Forest Greens in Perryman died on January 3, 2018 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD She was 90. Born near Aberdeen at Boothby Hill (now part of Aberdeen Proving Ground), she was the daughter of the late Adele Denham McNutt Courtney of Perryman and the late William Gover McNutt of Darlington and Philadelphia. She was the wife for 43 years of Howard R. Cline, who died in 1989, and the mother of Ronald R. Cline who died in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Susan A. Collins, son-in-law Wayne P. Collins, grandson Timothy M. Collins and his wife, Sara Joy, and great-grandson Ryan Howard Collins all of Perryman and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cline graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1944 and immediately began a career working at Lee Buick in Perryman as a secretary/bookkeeper where she worked for 14 years. While her children were small she assisted her husband in the operation of a service station, and then joined Aberdeen National Bank as a bookkeeper in the Consumer Credit Division. After retirement in 1980 she accepted a position as office manager and bookkeeper in a physician’s office. Her husband’s illness forced her final retirement.
Following her husband’s death she became a member of the Golden Age Club of Aberdeen where she was a Treasurer for 12 years. She enjoyed many bus trips with this club and a cruise to Bermuda. She was a member of Cranberry United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cline also enjoyed the monthly luncheon get-togethers of the Class of “44 from High School which brought back members from all over the country.
