Orville Haston Lyons

ORVILLE HASTON LYONS, age 80, of Churchville, MD, died at his residence on March 11, 2005. Born in Glade Valley, North Carolina, he was the son of the late William Haston and Rachel Frances Thompson Lyons, and the husband of the late O. Lucille Andrews Lyons. A lifetime dairy farmer, he owned and operated his own farm. He also was a welder and would fix anything. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Harford County Farm Bureau, and “charter member of Roy Rogers Breakfast Club”. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting.

Mr. Lyons is survived by one son, Donald R. Lyons and his wife, Ann C. of Churchville, MD; two daughters, Mildred A. Blackburn and her husband, J. Donald of Churchville, MD; Nancy L. Martin and her husband, C. Joseph of Forest Hill, MD; one sister, Irene Wright of Glade Valley, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Lisa A. Peterson of Bel Air, MD; Michele L. Buranen of Bel Air, MD; Scott H. Blackburn of Forest Hill, MD; Jeffrey C. Martin of Hampstead, MD; Zachary I. Lyons; Thomas A. Lyons; Rachel A. Lyons, Kate M. Lyons , all of Churchville, MD; six great-grandchildren, Matthew C. Peterson; Darren Mitzel; Andrew S. Peterson; Angela T. Buranen; Garrett J. Buranen, all of Bel Air, MD; and Brooke G. Blackburn of Forest Hill, MD. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Bert Lyons; Ivan Lyons; and two sisters, Dora Harwood; and Lila Thompson.

Active pallbearers were Scott H. Blackburn, Jeffrey C. Martin, Zachary I. Lyons, Thomas A. Lyons, Rachel A. Lyons, Matthew C. Peterson, Christopher C. Peterson, and Charles H. Mitzel, Jr.. Honary pallbearers were Larry Thompson, Earl McIntyre, Mack Caudilll, John Main and Raymond Bent.
