Opal Farmer, age 86, of Aberdeen, Maryland passed away on October 2, 2021 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born in Independence, Virginia, she was the daughter of Dewey MacWayne Sexton and Ethel Engle (Kirby) Sexton. She was a member of Stepney Faith Center Church for 57 years, where she was a preacher and Sunday school teacher for all ages. Opal loved the mountains of Virginia and researching genealogy. Opal is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Farmer; daughter, Lisa C. Farmer-Blankenship; son, Kevin D. Farmer; grandchildren, Shanna Holston, Shane Farmer, David Farmer, Tristian Farmer and Mia Farmer; great-grandchildren, Andrew Farmer, Bella Farmer, Lyric Beeman, Cole Hellum, and Layla Hellum; and two sisters, Jan Thomas and Phyllis Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Rogers and brother, Harold Sexton.
