ONETA CHEEK LOCHARY, age 78, of Forest Hill, died at Stella Maris on January 27, 2003. Born in Emmorton, she was the daughter of the late Reid Dewey and Tressie Hazel Edwards Cheek. She was a branch officer for First National Bank of Maryland at several locations in Harford County. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Bel Air Fire Company, the organizer and first president of Ladies Auxiliary of Harford County Fire Departments, the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association, and an honorary member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Level Fire Company and also the Perryville Fire Company. She was an avid Orioles baseball fan.
Mrs. Lochary is survived by her husband of 60 years, P. Paul Lochary; two daughters, Barbara Louise Caine of Forest Hill; Mary “Jeannie” Regina Lochary of Bel Air; two brothers, Howard Reid Cheek of Englewood, Florida; Talmage Arthur Cheek of Ocala, Florida; one sister, Rosalee Chappell of Dublin; five grandchildren, C. Courtney Caine of Forest Hill; Meghan Caine of Canton; Bridget Caine of White Marsh; Peter Sheldon and his wife, Courtney Sheldon of Fells Point; and Christopher Sheldon of Bel Air. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Nova Jean Matthews.
