Olga Topping Mootoo, age 82, of Riverview, FL, passed away on January 26, 2014 at Stella Maris in Timonium, MD. Born in Panama Republic of Panama, she was the daughter of the late Albert Norman and Daphne Icilda Newland Topping. She retired from the University of Miami where she was an assistant to the Dean of Nursing. When she first arrived in New York, she worked as a secretary for the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York. She also worked at the United Council of Churches in radio and television and did missionary work for "Bread for the World". She was known by her family to be a great planner and was an unselfish, giving, caring, compassionate and generous Matriarch of the family.
Ms. Mootoo is survived by her daughter, Valerie Y. Evans and husband, Edward; brother, Leonard F. Topping of Norwalk, CA; sisters, Norma T. Evans of Riverview, FL and Marva C. Springer of McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Khali, Kaiama, Yshana, Danita, Tonya and Kawama; and ten great-grandchildren.
