Norman James Martin Jr.

Norman J. Martin, Jr., age 90, of Bel Air, MD passed away on October 13, 2019 at Lorien Bulle Rock in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Norman James and Anne (Fleckenstein) Martin and husband of 63 years to Patricia Anne (Grady) Martin. He was a veteran of the U.S.Navy. He retired from Verizon in 1977 as part of their Sales & Marketing Team and from the State of Maryland as Director of Telecommunications in 1987. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Glenmar Sailing Association and Spry Island Sailing Association. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique cars, spending time sailing and being on the water.

In addition to his wife, Norman is survived by daughter, Beth Kahl of New Freedom, PA; two sons, Jay (Alice Ann) Martin of Oxford, MD and Drew (Paige) Martin of Wilmington, DE; seven grandchildren, Sara Bowers, Anna Poe, Grady Martin, William Martin, Bailey Martin, Perry Martin, and Anders Martin; one great-granddaughter, Lily Bowers; and three great-grandsons, Aiden Kahl, Asher Poe and Freddie Bowers.
