Norma Mae Burkins (nee Rockey), age 84, of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away on 11 January 2021 at Laurelwood Nursing Center in Elkton, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Charles Wildey and Addie Lee Rockey. She worked at Bata Shoe Company and was an EKG Technician and Supervisor at Harford Memorial Hospital from which she retired. She loved to go camping with her family, work on her needlework, do puzzles and word search and loved to hear her children sing and play Gospel music.
Along with her parents, Norma is preceeded in death by her husband, Franklin W. Burkins Sr, a brother, James Rockey, and a grandson, Brian L. Burkins.
She is survived by her brothers Robert (Fran) and Joseph (Judy) and her sister Charlotte Burkins (Elmer). She is also survived by her children, Franklin Jr (Lessie), Deborah Harrell, C. Dale (Debbie) and Terry Stallings (John); grandchildren, Todd Hawkins (Jennifer), Melissa Tharpe (Guy), Kevin Burkins ( Karen), Tiffany Hanks ( Jerry), Tambra Kraft ( Jason), Nicole McMichael, Amber Moore (Trevor), Kierston Burkins (fiancée Evan Sikalas) and Haley (step granddaughter) and great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Trent, Seth, Delilah, Riley, Evan, Tyson, Kallista, Adalyn, Piper and Austin. There are also numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial service and gathering for the family will be held at a later date due to current situations beyond our control.
