Norma K. Procell

Norma K. Procell, age 89, of Bel Air, MD passed away on December 12, 2020 at Brightview Assisted Living of Bel Air. Born in Lake Toxaway, NC, she was the daughter of Eugene Swin King Sr. and Norma Alleghany (Chapman) King, and wife of the late Herman Procell. Born and raised in North Carolina, Norma married Herman, the love of her life, in 1956. They moved to Harford County in 1967 where she resided the rest of her life. She had a passion for teaching children and reading. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Appalachian State Teachers College and then earned her Master’s Degree from Towson State College. From 1968-1992 she was a kindergarten teacher at Deerfield Elementary School where she loved working with children. Norma enjoyed traveling the United States with her husband and visited all the states except for Alaska. She was amazing at playing Trivial Pursuit, Jeopardy, working crossword puzzles, and was a long-time member of Edgewood Baptist Church.

Norma is survived by her children, Patricia (Anthony) Wilkins of Tiger, GA; Lawrence (Suzanne) Procell of Elkton, Kenneth (Mary) Procell of Bel Air; grandchildren, Christina (Jonathan) Serra of Lynnfield, MA, Matthew (Lauren) Procell of Glen Rock, PA, Kara Procell of New York, NY, Caroline Procell of Elkton, and Katherine Procell of Abingdon; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Geoghagan, Samuel Procell, Leilani Serra, Jonathan Serra, Stone Serra, Paisley Procell, Lane Procell, and Kellen Harkins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
