Nesha Fortner

Nesha Fortner, age 71, of Bel Air, MD, died on October 9, 2009 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. Born in Sardis, MS, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Aubrau Sczantula Ware Alford. Raised in Mississippi, she was a graduate of Batesville High School before earning her nursing degree at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. She had worked in several hospitals in Louisiana, Tennessee and locally at Fallston General Hospital and Franklin Square Hospital. She was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church in Mississippi and Salem United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Fortner is survived by her husband of 50 years, Clarence Fortner of Bel Air, MD; son, George Wayne Fortner Sr. of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Kathryn Ann Klass of Apex, NC; and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James Alford and sister, Lorraine Alford Hudson.
