Nelson F. Bell Sr., age 85, of Bel Air, MD passed away on November 21, 2012 at his home. Born in Carney, MD, he was the son of the late Raymond Bell Sr. and Sarah Catherine Finney Bell. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during WWII and worked for Western Electric as a tool and die maker. He lived most of his life in Carney and was a resident of Harford County for the past seven years. His life was dedicated to the church and the Lord, and for the past ten years had attended Evangelical Methodist Church in Darlington. He also served as Elder at Open Bible Tabernacle in Baltimore and worked with the Christian Service Brigade. He enjoyed gardening and raising honey bees.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Audrey M. Bell of Bel Air, MD; son, Mark T. Bell and wife, Jodie, of Carney, MD; daughters, Sharon L. Short and husband, David, of Forest Hill, MD and A. Paulette Myers and husband, Karl, of Bel Air, MD; brother, Robert Milton Bell of Omaha, NE; sisters, Anna Messick of Raleigh, NC and Ruth Cockey of Colorado Springs, CO; 14 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Nelson Finney Bell Jr., brothers Raymond Bell Jr. and Charles Bell, and sister Virginia Siniard.
