NELSON C. GIBSON, age 75, of Forest Hill, died in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on February 17, 2004. Born in McColl, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Alexander Thomas and Selena Cecile Higgins Gibson. He had retired from Black & Decker where he worked as a corporate tax director. He was a 32 Degree Mason in Waco, Texas, a member of the Tax Executives Institute and was an avid golfer. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
For 53 years, Nelson (Tad) Gibson was the loving husband and best friend of his wife, Lois Sommer Gibson. The loving care and understanding that he offered his son, T. Scott Gibson of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his daughter, Leslie G. Gibson of Forest Hill, awarded him “Father of the Year” every year. He and his only sibling, William A. Gibson of Bel Air, were there for each other throughout their lives, not just as brothers but as true friends. He is also survived by “Barney” his beloved German Shepherd buddy of 6 years.
Pallbearers will be: Phil Rueberry, Phil Hauck, Mike Oliveri, Kevin Geraghty, Luis Sagastume, and Brian Durnan.
