Nancy Lee Pyle

Nancy Lee Pyle née Lohr, age 81, of Fallston, Maryland, passed away on May 19, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Paul Elmer Lohr and Elizabeth (Day) Lohr, she was the wife of the late Donald Kempson Pyle. After graduation from Eastern High School, Nancy received her bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland College Park, where she was a member of the Gamma Theta chapter of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Upon graduation she worked for many years in the Department of Social Services and as a history teacher in the Baltimore City Public School system. Later, she worked in the Department of Defense, where she retired in 2011. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed bowling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.      

Nancy is survived by her son, David K. Pyle; daughters, Gayle (Pyle) Whittington and Judith (Pyle) Smith; her son-in-law Jason Whittington; and grandchildren, Caitlin Smith, Delaney Whittington, Meredith Whittington and Emmerson Whittington.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Lohr.
