NANCY L. COOK of Bel Air died of ovarian cancer March 3 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was 65.
Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Poole and Helen Webster Poole.
Mrs. Cook was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church since her childhood. Mrs. Cook was known for her volunteer work, ever-present smile and compassionate nature. She had a special love for all children and had been a library ''Story Lady.'' She and her husband, Gerald Cook, were active in Worldwide Marriage Encounter since 1982.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald E. Cook, Sr.; two sons, Jerry Cook, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Port Deposit and Ken Cook and his wife, Julie, of Mt. Airy; one daughter, Susan Cook Lane and her husband, Jim Lane, of Bel Air; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Cook of Mount Airy; Corry, Holly, Brian, Daniel and Brendon Lane of Bel Air; two sisters, Georgianna Jeffery of Orlando, Fla., and Patsy Hanley of Forest Hill and two nephews, Billy Slater of Binghamton, N.Y. and Gary Jeffery of Chicago, Ill.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by one sister, Helen Slater.
Pallbearers will be Jim Antal, Ron Basener, Jim Dehn, Charlie Filburn, Ray Vanden Bosche and Pat Venanzi. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Brown, Dave Grassey, Dick Stevens and Billy Minish.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Nancy L. Cook to Johns Hopkins University Ovarian Cancer Research Program, Weinburg/Room 2270, 401 N. Broadway, Baltimore, Md. 21231-2410.
