Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Quinn, age 88, of Aberdeen, died on March 26, 2010 at Lorien at Riverside Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of the late William "Bill" Quinn, whom she married on August 19, 1939. She was born July 6, 1921 in Galax, VA, the daughter of the late Roy and Clittis Sparks Moxley.
She spent most of life being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She loved the time she could spend with her family and especially loved cooking large meals for them. In her spare time she enjoyed working Find-a-Word crossword puzzles.
In addition to her beloved husband, mother and father, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Jeffers and Lucille Corbin, and three brothers, Lester Moxley, Woodie Moxley and Roger Moxley.
Myrtle is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David Louis and Dorie Quinn of Odenton, MD; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Doug Vest of Covington, VA; one sister and brother-in-law, Mickie and Herb Remines of Aberdeen, MD; one brother-in-law, Ray Corbin of Kingsville, MD; and one sister-in-law, Martha Moxley of Aberdeen, MD; two granddaughters, Debbie and Leo Cadorette of Delta, PA and Donna Trigger and special friend Frank of Lilburn, GA; one grandson, Bob and Kathy Ginger of Nokomis, FL; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Myrtle is also survived by a special friend, Betty Crookshanks, and a very special daughter-in-law, Alverta Dockins, who was very caring and devoted to her while in the nursing home.
