MYRTLE G. TIMMONS, age 81, of Havre de Grace, died at Harford Memorial Hospital on August 16, 2004. Born in Perryman, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Bertha Emma Coulter Griffith and the wife of the late Howard Lee Timmons. She was a cashier clerk at A&P grocery stores working in Aberdeen, Bel Air, and finally retired in 1985 for the Havre de Grace store. A lifelong resident of Harford County, she was a member of the First Christian Church in Havre de Grace for 47 years. She served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, facilitator of the Bible school, director of various pageants, and she cooked for various functions at the church. She was a member of the Evening Star Rebekah Lodge #58, then transferred to the Rainbow Rebekah Lodge #95 of Churchville, MD. She was a Past President of the Maryland Rebekah Assembly. She was honored with the Declaration of Chivalry and was a member of Theta Rho Youth division of the Rebekahs. She was also Past President of the Ladies Auxillary of Patriarchs Militants. She adopted and sponsored a Vietnamese orphan.
Mrs. Timmons is survived by one son, Howard Edward (Butch) Timmons of Havre de Grace, Maryland; three daughters, Deanna J. Rembold of Havre de Grace, MD; Sharon L. Simon of Elkton, MD; Bonnie Sue Bryant of Elkton, MD; two sisters, Patricia Jones of Rising Sun, MD; Virginia Bennett of Belcamp, MD; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her dog, Rex.
