Myriam Alberty, age 82, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at Sterling Care in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Colombia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pedro Villegas and Maria Giraldo and the devoted wife of the late Jose Alberty.
A woman of grace, creativity, and resilience, Myriam built a successful career as a cosmetologist, owning and operating her own business in Miami for over 30 years. She had a remarkable talent for beauty—her hairstyles were admired by many, and her keen eye for fashion was reflected in the clothing she designed.
Beyond her profession, Myriam had a deep love for the arts, crafting beautiful ornaments that she gifted to friends and family. She found joy in the kitchen, where her love for cooking brought people together. She also cherished the simple pleasures of life—taking long walks under the warm sun, finding peace by the water, and embracing the serenity of nature.
A dedicated member of Trinity Church in Miami, Myriam’s faith was an anchor in her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, artistic spirit, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and strength that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
Myriam is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Alberty of Miami, FL; son, Carlos Alberto Gonzalez and his spouse Francislea Muniz Gonzalez; grandchildren, Joshua K. McDonald, Gabriella Gonzalez, Daniel Gonzalez, and Andrew Gonzalez; and sister, Nina Villegas.
In addition to her husband and parents, Myriam was preceded in death by 13 siblings.
