Muriel Adlea Emmons-Skillman

September 16, 1963 — July 18, 2024

Muriel Adalea Emmons (60) passed on July 18, 2024, after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Mildred Emmons of Glen Burnie. She served as a caregiver and resided in Bel Air.

Muriel is survived by her husband, Samuel Skillman; her children and their spouses, Samanthia (Guy) Emmons, Raymond Scott Wilson, II, Stephanie (Jiyong) Emmons, Noah Skillman Emmons; her grandchildren, Dominick, Landon, Isaac, Althea Adalea; her siblings and their spouses, the late Reggie (Linda) Emmons, Bonnie (David) Wareing, Mark (Lisa) Emmons, Keith Emmons, Eric Emmons, Cheryl (Todd) Mathew, Charles (Julie) Emmons; her mother-in-law, Rev. Susan J. Schuder; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Muriel was a kind-hearted and fun-loving person through and through. She cherished her family and friends and was always grateful for them. She deeply cared for others and generously helped them as much as she could. Muriel liked to tell stories and jokes to make people laugh, and everyone loved her.

Muriel was a great mother who truly loved her children “to the moon and back” as she often told them when they were young. She selflessly made sacrifices for them and was proud of the men and women they became.

Muriel loved Sam--her soulmate, her devoted husband for over 20 years, her everything. He adored her and cared for her to the end.

Muriel was a beautiful and intelligent woman with a heart filled with love, happiness, and child-like faith. She was a fighter, and that tenacious spirit gave her the strength to live her life her way. Her kindness, generosity, determination, and laughter will remain in our hearts forever.
