Miriam Shell of Abingdon MD passed away peacefully December 24, 2016. She was 95. Miriam was born in New Rochelle, NY the daughter of Mary Ellen Burns and Frederick Bock. Miriam's husband William Robert predeceased her. Mrs. Shell attended the Ballard Business School in New York City where she studied in the health care coordinator program. Mrs. Shell lived in Stamford CT most of her life where she enjoyed singing in the church choir and community choruses. While living in Connecticut she sang in the Yale New Haven Chorus under the direction of Dr. Victor Wahby. During that time the Yale Chorus sang at the White House and the United Nations. Mrs. Shell and her husband later moved to Florida. While living there she was very active with Friends of the Library and the City of Coral Springs.
Mrs. Shell is survived by three sons and a daughter, William Shell and his wife Patricia of LaGrange IL, daughter Susan Shell McLean of Warren NH, Douglas Shell and his wife Sandra of Bel Air, Kevin Shell and his wife Diana of Macclenny, FL. Eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at St Margaret's Catholic Church in Bel Air at a date to be determined.
